How it works
The technician records the amount, how you paid (cash or bank transfer) and the spare parts it paid for. It counts against the approved quotation: the job total stays the same and what is left to pay goes down.
You are notified with Payment collected on site each time one is recorded. Keep that notification as your receipt.
Where to see it
- On the ticket, the Collected on site card lists each payment with its parts, amount, who collected it and when, and the Total collected on site.
- The Payment card on the ticket shows the Job total, Total paid and Remaining balance.
- The quotation shows Collected on site and Balance due under its total.
Corrections
Only the technician or the office can record, correct or remove an on-site payment; for you the card is read-only. A corrected entry says when it was corrected. If an amount is wrong, tell the office.
Once the job is invoiced, on-site payments become part of the invoice and can no longer be changed.
On your invoice
Money paid on site is already counted in the invoice's Paid figure and listed in its Payment history, so Balance due is only what is left. Paying online then charges just that balance.
Tips
- Check that the amount in the notification matches what you handed over.
- Ask the technician to note a reference, such as a receipt number; it appears on the record.
Frequently asked questions
- Is an on-site payment added to my bill?
- No. It counts against the approved quotation, so it reduces what you still owe. It is not an extra charge.
- Can I pay for the whole job on site?
- An on-site payment can't be more than what is still owed on the job, and it needs an approved quotation. Most clients pay the rest online on the invoice.
