Before you start
The visit must be booked first: check-in appears on a job at Site visit scheduled. Allow PrimeFix to use your location when the phone or browser asks.
Check in from the app
- Open the job and select Check in on site.
- Wait while the screen shows Getting your location…. It then shows how precise the position is, for example Accurate to about 12m.
- If the signal is weak, move outdoors or near a window and select Retake location.
- Select Confirm check-in.
The arrival time is set by the server, not by your phone, so a wrong clock on the phone does not change it.
If the GPS signal is weak
When the position is only accurate to more than about 50 metres, the app shows Weak GPS signal. You can still check in: a plant room or a basement may never give a good fix. The accuracy is saved with your check-in.
Check in from a browser
- Open the job on the web and select Check in (GPS).
- Confirm in the dialog.
- Allow the browser to use your location when it asks.
If location is blocked for the site, the page tells you how to allow it from the lock icon next to the address bar. Browsers share location only on a secure (https) page.
After you check in
The job moves to On-site (checked in), and it shows your check-in time and coordinates. Next, submit your diagnosis.
Tips
- Check in at the entrance or outdoors, where the GPS fix is better, then go to the equipment.
- Use the app rather than a laptop browser; a phone gives a far more precise position.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is there no check-in button?
- The visit is not booked yet, or you have already checked in. On a new job, select Schedule site visit first.
- Can I check in with a poor GPS signal?
- Yes. The app warns you, but you can still confirm. The accuracy is saved with your check-in.
- Do I check in if the office skipped the visit?
- No. The job is already marked on site, and you submit the diagnosis remotely.
