Pin the site on the map

A request describes the site twice: the typed address says which building, floor and gate, and the map pin gets the technician to the door. The pin is required, so the form won't create a ticket without one.

Step 1 of 5

Three ways to place the pin

  • Use my current location takes your device's position. Use it when you are at the site; your browser or phone asks for permission first.
  • Find address on map looks up the Site address you typed. Type the address first. When it is found you see Matched to and the place name; if not, add the district or city and try again.
  • Set on map opens a map. Tap to drop the pin, then drag it to adjust. Select Hide map to close the map.

Check the pin

Once the pin is placed, the card reads Site location saved and says where it came from: From this device's location, From the address you typed, or Placed on the map. A device location also shows its accuracy, for example Accurate to about 12 m.

If the location may be more than 100 m off, you see a warning. Select Check on map to see the pin in your maps app, then place it again, or step outside for a better GPS reading.

In the app

The app offers the same three options. Use my current location is the main button until a pin is set; after that it becomes Update location, next to Check on map, which opens the pin in your maps app.

On a phone, a fresh location also looks up the street address. If the Site address field is still empty the app fills it in, and it never replaces an address you typed.

Change or remove the pin

Before you create the ticket, use any of the options again to move the pin, or select the X (Remove location) to clear it.

After the ticket is created you can't move the pin yourself. If it is wrong, contact the office with the ticket number.

Tips

  • Address lookups work best with the district and city included, for example King Fahd Rd, Al Olaya, Riyadh.
  • For a large site such as a mall or a compound, put the pin at the entrance the technician should use, and describe where the unit is in the complaint.
  • If your browser blocks location, allow it from the lock icon next to the address bar, or use Find address on map instead.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the pin required when I already typed the address?
Dispatch sorts technicians by their distance to the pin, and the technician navigates to it. The typed address still matters for the floor, unit and gate.
It says it couldn't get my location. What can I do?
Allow location access and try again, move near a window or outdoors, or use Find address on map or Set on map instead. Browsers only share location on a secure (https) page.
Can I pin a site other than where I am now?
Yes. Type that site's address and use Find address on map, or place the pin with Set on map. Use my current location only makes sense when you are at the site.
